چکیده

Method We designed a three-armed, double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. Patients received mometasone furoate nasal spray (EIT group: n=25), placebo (n=25), or 4 weeks of placebo followed by 8 weeks of mometasone (POT group: n=25) for a 12-week period starting on February 1, 2011. The primary endpoint was the comparison of the total nasal symptom score (TNSS) among the three groups. Total ocular symptom score (TOSS), total nasoocular symptom score (TSS), ARIA classification, safety, etc. were secondary endpoints.

Minimal persistent inflammation in Japanese cedar pollinosis and a prophylactic effect of intranasal corticosteroids

Background Low doses of allergen exposure can cause an activation of inflammatory cells in nasal mucosa without an onset of nasal symptoms, called MPI (minimal persistent inflammation). MPI contributes to hyperreactivity and subsequently onset of the full-scale symptom. However, little is known whether MPI is present in JCP (Japanese cedar pollinosis). In addition, a prophylactic effect of intr...

Effect of intranasal corticosteroid on pre-onset activation of eosinophils and mast cells in experimental Japanese cedar pollinosis.

BACKGROUND Minimal persistent inflammation (MPI) contributes to hyperreactivity in allergic rhinitis. However, little is known regarding whether pre-onset activation of eosinophils and mast cells is present or not in Japanese cedar pollinosis (JCP). Furthermore, a prophylactic effect of intranasal corticosteroids on such MPI in JCP has not been investigated. METHODS We designed a double-blind...

Relationship of airborne pollen count and treatment outcome in Japanese cedar pollinosis patients. Short Title: Pollen count and treatment outcome in pollinosis

Background In Japan, information of daily airborne Japanese cedar pollen counts is made public during pollen season. If symptoms severity and treatment outcome are predictable according to these pollen counts, management of seasonal allergic rhinitis may become more precise. Aims of the study To evaluate the relationship between airborne pollen counts, symptoms severity and treatment outcome in...
